All Who Enter
for symphonic winds & percussion
If you were to find yourself in one of Bruce Dinkins’ band rooms over the years you may have noticed a large sign hanging from one of it’s walls. It simply states;
TO ALL THOSE WHO ENTER
YOU ARE SUBJECT TO THE RELENTLESS REFINING PROCESS OF MUSIC
THROUGH UNCOMPROMISING STANDARDS
To know Bruce was to know a teacher and a person with a rare passion. He wanted nothing more than for his students to not only grasp the unparalleled power that music holds, but to experience it within the context of excellence. This statement then becomes the perfect summation of his musical life and what one could expect under his tutelage. I know myself and the many who entered have taken this quote to heart as a guiding principle of our lives and and we are forever indebted to Bruce for what he gave and instilled in us.
TO ALL THOSE WHO ENTER was commissioned in memory of Bruce Dinkins by a consortium of colleagues and friends and was premiered in February of 2013 by the James Bowie High School Band.
Note: this work was edited in 2025 from its original 2013 version (the 2013 version is no longer in publication).
PDF copy of the score and parts will be watermarked with the purchasing ensemble or buyer’s name. Note that PDF scores are eligible for a single printing. If you need multiple scores for contests or clinics, then multiple hard copies of the score will need to be purchased. Parts can be printed out as needed to fit the personnel of the ensemble.
When you purchase Parts you are also purchasing a Site License. Like computer software a Site License grants the purchasing ensemble/institution unlimited future performances as long as it is the purchasing ensemble/institution that is performing it. I ask then that purchased materials are not shared or distributed with any 3rd parties. If you are a conductor of an ensemble who has purchased one of my pieces and you are planning on using that piece for an honor band (All-State, Region, etc) then the coordinator of that honors ensemble will need to purchase materials for that group as performance materials are not transferable to other groups.
