Acts of Congress

for symphonic winds & percussion

Congress Ave shoots north up from the feet of Austin Texas. It then crosses over Lady Bird Lake splitting downtown in half before coming to a rest in the lap of the Texas State Capital Building. The stretch of avenue south of the lake known as South Congress is lined with shops, taco bars, hotels, tattoo parlors, live-music venues, and restaurants. It is in a sense a main artery of the city and serves as a cultural nerve center for all things Austin. In the 17 years that my family and I have lived here this street has become a favorite jaunt of ours. And though this place has grown and evolved rapidly over the years the charm, soul, and uniqueness found in its roots still hold true... for the time being anyway.

It is in the occurrences, locations, graffiti, and wall art located along South Congress that this suite finds its inspiration.

Acts of Congress - Score (PDF)
$75.00
Acts of Congress - Parts (PDF)
$225.00

PDF copy of the score and parts will be watermarked with the purchasing ensemble or buyer’s name. Note that PDF scores are eligible for a single printing. If you need multiple scores for contests or clinics, then multiple hard copies of the score will need to be purchased. Parts can be printed out as needed to fit the personnel of the ensemble.

When you purchase Parts you are also purchasing a Site License. Like computer software a Site License grants the purchasing ensemble/institution unlimited future performances as long as it is the purchasing ensemble/institution that is performing it. I ask then that purchased materials are not shared or distributed with any 3rd parties. If you are a conductor of an ensemble who has purchased one of my pieces and you are planning on using that piece for an honor band  (All-State, Region, etc) then the coordinator of that honors ensemble will need to purchase materials for that group as performance materials are not transferable to other groups.
